IRRIS TECHNOLOGY
IRRIS technology is a comprehensive suite of capabilities used for real-time command and control as well as planning and analysis. IRRIS incorporates geographic information systems (GIS), and location-based services into one common interface, providing a single point of access. IRRIS technology integrates a variety of static and real-time information, including road conditions, construction, incidents, and weather, and displays data through an interactive mapping interface.
With the visibility provided by a common operating picture (COP), decisions makers can achieve exceptional situational awareness, perform advanced spatial analysis and relationship comparisons, access time-critical information, visualize activity patterns, map locations, and coordinate among different agencies to effectively respond to incidents and crisis situations.
IRRIS DEVELOPMENT
GeoDecisions and the U.S. military developed IRRIS as an open system, so it can easily incorporate information from a variety of sources. This flexibility allows the application to accommodate the specific needs of its users and promote interoperability. IRRIS has also expanded to serve users in federal and state agencies, as well as in the commercial and private sectors.
GeoDecisions is constantly updating and upgrading IRRIS. The most recent release, IRRIS 7, is transforming the way users perform their daily missions by simplifying workflows and providing powerful spatial analysis capabilities while significantly improving performance.
The enhanced performance of IRRIS 7 is the result of improved map cache generation and management, as well as optimized web graphics. These caching and web graphic upgrades translate into more responsive drawing performance, including smooth, continuous panning of data. Additional improvements include simplified data queries and faster map creations.
IRRIS technology is built on the .NET framework and the Esri ArcGIS® 10 platform utilizing the Flex API.
